To better serve our growing Spanish-speaking audience with quality current affairs programs, documentaries, and children’s programs, WXEL is launching V-Me (“See me”) on its digital channel 42.3 beginning Wednesday, July 1st, 2009.
“We have a great opportunity to serve the Spanish-speaking community in South Florida and the Treasure Coast, drawing viewers to this unique channel, presenting the kind of programming that is the hallmark of public television,” says WXEL President & CEO Jerry Carr. “With V-Me, Spanish-speaking audiences get the best of public television in Spanish. It’s unique programming that’s smart, engaging and empowering entertainment.”
“Latinos want more from media – more visibility, more quality and more choices,” said Carmen DiRienzo, president of V-me Media in New York City. “V-me provides intelligent entertainment that explores interests and issues Hispanics share with all Americans, and connects the many diverse Latino communities.”
V-me offers the best educational pre-school programming on Spanish TV, with shows such as Lazytown, Plaza Sésamo, Franny’s Feet, NumberJacks: Los Supernúmeros and Hoobs.
