Debra Tornaben has served our community for the past fifteen years. Prior to coming to WXEL, she worked as the Palm Beach Managing Director for the Miami City Ballet, under the Artistic Direction of Edward Villella. She opened The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach for Donald J. Trump, as the Director of Special Events and Public Relations, presenting well-known talents such as: Vic Damone, The Beach Boys, Celine Dion, Art Buchwald, and Charlton Heston to name a few.
Ellen Huxley-Laffer
Co-Producer of South Florida Profile
Ellen Huxley-Laffer has been with WXEL since 2002. She is the Assistant Director of the Garnet Society working with philanthropic individuals to ensure the preservation of the arts, education and culture in the Palm Beaches. Working with Garnet Society members on special events such as WXEL's fashion shows with guest speakers like Suze Orman, silent auctions and luncheons at Donald J. Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club and The Mirasol Country Club; "Keeping the Legends Alive" events honoring legendary performers such as Vic Damone and Ben Vereen, and continuing her efforts in the development of WXEL's presence in the Palm Beaches and on the Treasure Coast keep her very busy with community activities. She is also a member of the Palms West Chamber of Commerce.
Ellen is Co-Producer of WXEL's locally produced show South Florida Profile, highlighting celebrities and places of interest in our community. South Florida Profile's guests have included: Arlene Dahl, James Patterson, Luciano Pavarotti, Regis Philbin, Donald J. Trump, Ben Vereen and Edward Villella.
Prior to joining WXEL Ellen worked for Food for the Poor, Inc. an international humanitarian aid organization providing food, housing, medical services and education to "the poorest of the poor" in third world countries.
Originally from New York, Ellen worked for twenty years in the travel industry as Assistant to the President of the Northeast Division for the Carlson Marketing Group, owners of Ask Mr. Foster Travel, TGI Friday's, The
Colony Resorts and the Radisson Hotels.
She and her husband Randy own, race and breed harness horses in Florida.
