The WXEL Community Affairs Department is responsible for handling a variety of educational and civic matters. Throughout the year, this department submits grant proposals for a number of outreach projects based on various PBS programs. When WXEL is selected for an outreach project by other PBS stations or other grant funders, the WXEL Director of Community Affairs implements projects by collaborating with key community partners in order to effectively achieve the goals for particular outreach campaigns.
The 7th annual sell-out luncheon celebrates 12 Latinas from South Florida on August 15th. WXEL’s Marlene Ross is the only nominee from Palm Beach County.
The 7th annual charity luncheon honoring 12 Latinas and a Latina Pioneer will take place on Friday, August 15th at the Signature Grand in Davie, Florida from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Presented by Bank of America and Latina Style Magazine, the nation's leading publication for Hispanic women, this high-powered, entertaining salute to distinguished Hispanic-American women will benefit the March of Dimes and ASPIRA of Florida,a Hispanic youth-mentoring and drop-out prevention program. read more »
