South Florida PBS has recently announced the merger of WPBT2 serving Florida’s Miami-Dade and Broward counties with WXEL serving the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast. This event places it in the top 10 largest Television markets in America. This is a terrific opportunity for the right candidate. South Florida PBS is seeking an innovative executive to lead efforts to identify, develop and sign sponsorships from new revenue sources that drive new business revenue and business opportunities in support of the mission of South Florida PBS.  

South Florida PBS is located in Miami and is comprised of community-licensed public television stations serving South Florida from the Treasure Coast to the Florida Keys.  South Florida PBS produces and provides programs and services to the community through varied media platforms.  The region served is dynamic, diverse and rich in arts and culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of experience working in fundraising.  Must have demonstrated success in production fundraising. Television broadcast/digital media knowledge is a plus. History of building strategic partnerships with community groups and content organizations. Must be able to set goals.  Excellent presentation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to present and convey complex ideas and issues clearly and coherently. Energy, enthusiasm and desire to work hard and achieve ambitious targets.

Responsible for assisting with the organization, planning & execution of multi-media communications, public relations campaigns & station outreach events.  Works with team members to market & promote South Florida PBS’s program services through multi media platforms including social media & other emerging opportunities.  Creates content for South Florida PBS blogs & social media platforms in support of events, programs & marketing strategies.  Produces station video interstitials as needed/requested.  Interacts with clients, contacts, committee boards & logistic providers throughout the coordination of the events. 

QUALIFICATIONS:High school graduate or equivalent. College graduate with course work in Public Relations or Journalism preferred. Minimum one to two years’ experience in public relations & event coordination.  Ability to write concisely & creatively.  Computer literate with experience using social media platforms.

As an integral part of the Development Division this position contributes to the division success by proactively and independently identifying, researching and analyzing prospects for major gift and campaign solicitations providing the foundation for effective identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of South Florida PBS prospects, members, donors, family foundations and community friends.  This research and analysis includes gleaning, coordinating and producing biographical, financial and philanthropic information as it relates to current, lapsed and potential donors who have the propensity and capacity to support major gifts and capital campaign initiatives.  Responsible for organizing detailed research, then writing comprehensive reports, as well as succinct profiles along with suggested strategies to engage and grow ongoing constituent involvement and investment in South Florida PBS. 

QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree or additional formalized training in business administration/fundraising equivalent required.  Three to five years of experience in related development research.  Considerable knowledge of English, including grammar, spelling, and excellent writing skills.  Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.  Must have proven ability to utilize research tools and be proficient in effective donor/prospect research including but not limited to iWave, Lexis-Nexis, and Research Point. Ability to compose effective research reports, letters, proposals, donor profiles and biographies is a must. Excellent keyboarding/computer skills required with two to three years of experience in RENXT, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

South Florida PBS is seeking an innovative fundraising professional to provide leadership, direction, and coordination for a comprehensive fundraising program primarily responsible for cultivating and soliciting of capital and endowment gifts through strategic planning, development and solicitation of major gifts and donations in Palm Beach county and surrounding areas. This position, part of the executive management team, will position South Florida PBS as a top community partner for public media in South Florida.

South Florida PBS is a community-licensed public television station serving South Florida from the Treasure Coast to the Florida Keys.  South Florida PBS produces and provides programs and services to the community through varied media platforms.  The region served is dynamic, diverse and rich in arts and culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of six years experience in the area of fund development with demonstrated success in prospecting, cultivation, and solicitation of gifts. Specific experience and knowledge in the areas of management, major donor funding, donor cultivation event, special events, membership systems, annual giving programs, campaign management, corporate support programs, foundation funding, and planned giving.  Public television experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communications skills.  Basic accounting skills. Participates in corporate planning and financial forecasting.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Directly responsible for seeking out opportunities, cultivating and soliciting of capital and endowment gifts through strategic planning, development and solicitation of major gifts and donations to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support. Manages the solicitation of a portfolio of 100 to 150 current and potential major donor prospects with a focus on Palm Beach and Martin Counties.  Develop and manage a cultivation and stewardship plan to recognize and involve Planned Giving and Major donors through personal visits, receptions, on-air recognition, publications and/or other means. Works closely with development team to develop and implement strategies and programs for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major donors. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

College graduate with emphasis in business, management, fund raising, public relations, or equivalent comparable work experience.

Minimum of five years experience in the area of fund development with demonstrated success in prospect identification, cultivation, and solicitation. Specific experience and knowledge with emphasize on successful track record in the areas of management, major donor funding, membership systems, annual giving programs, campaign management, corporate support programs, foundation funding, event planning and coordination and planned giving.

This position will primarily work out of our WXEL offices located in Boynton Beach, FL.

HR GENERALIST

TITLE:HR Generalist
DESCRIPTION:

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team.  Directly responsible developing a strategic HR plan to ensure adequate resources to meet the strategic goals and operation of SFPBS. Will work closely with executive management team to assess and forecast HR needs in each division based on the strategic goals of the organization.  Develop a gap analysis, internal training programs, oversee compensation practices and ensure that job descriptions are complete and up-to-date.  Responsible for administering, distributing and monitoring employee performance evaluations and that they are processed in a timely manner. Establishes and participates in an employee activities committee, arranging special functions for staff.  Administers worker’s compensation insurance/policy following carrier and state guidelines.  Prepares OSHA reports annually.  This position will work at both the South Facility, located in North Miami, FL and the North Facility, located in Boynton Beach, FL. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate or equivalent. College graduate with degree in related field desirable.  Minimum of three to four years of experience in the areas of HR strategic planning, wage and salary administration, laws, and administrative matters. Must have excellent verbal and writing skills, be detail oriented, and the ability to meet deadlines and follow through.  Being able to set goals, delegate responsibilities and motivate personnel is essential.  Strong math aptitude.  Specific experience working in high pressure situations with an emphasis on a high degree of confidentiality.  Ability to deal well with people from all walks of life is a must.
